Understanding the meaning in the functional spoken text and simple short monologue in the form of descriptive text to interact within the surroundings.
B.     Basic Competence
Responding the meaning in the simple short monologue an accurately, fluently, and thank you to interact within surroundings in the form of descriptive text.
C.    Indicator
Identifying the specific information based the audio.
D.    Learning Objective
When the students are given a chance to listen the audio, they are able to identifying the specific information based on the audio.
E.     Time Allotment: 2 x 40 minutes

§  Definition and purpose of descriptive text
Descriptive text is the text that is always in around us when we want to describe something or someone. Descriptive text is a text which says what a person or a thing is like.
Its purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place, or thing.
§  Generic structure of descriptive text
1.         Identification: identifying the phenomenon to be described.
2.         Description   : describing the phenomenon in parts, qualities or and characteristic.


§  The language feature of descriptive text
1.         Using attributive and identifying process.
2.         Using adjective and classifiers in nominal group.
3.         Using simple present tense.
Example of descriptive text

Mrs. Lidia
Lidia is a nurse. She is tall and has a short black hair. She works in a hospital in Surabaya. She helps the doctors and looks after the patients. She gives the patients the medicine, and she often talks to them and listens to their problems. Sometimes, she talks to the patients’ families. She always wears her nurse’s uniforms. She looks friendly.
